Dionysus Winery 2007 won the top gold medal of the latest Shiraz vintage class at the Canberra Regional Wine Show. A top drop with everything that you'd expect from a cool climate Shiraz. Stock is limited due to the viscious frost in November 2006.

2008 Murrumbateman Moving Feast ( 4 & 5 October 2008 - October Long Weekend)

An exciting weekend of gourmet food and wonderful wines. This is the third Murrumbateman Moving Feast and it's building upon the great success of the 2007 Feast. Local Murrumbateman winemakers have worked together to put together a feast that you can plan for yourselves. Each winery will be offering food matched with their flagship wines. With a dozen wineries participating the choices will be vast and all tastes catered for. Visitors are also encouraged to visit several wineries to taste wines as well as choosing some wineries for gourmet fare.

Dionysus Winery will be offering a cassoulet - a traditional Fench country dish of haricot beans, pork, chicken, bacon and spicy sausage. For sweets we have the choice of a scrumptious dark chocolate or white chocolate cheesecake served with fresh cream.

2008 Wine, Roses and All that Jazz ( 1 & 2 November 2008)

Dionysus Winery will be participating in this years Wine and Roses Festival in November. As well as tasting our quality wines, visitors can relax and enjoy home made pies made with Dionysus wines in a tranquil and inviting setting. The pies are always a success and have been made with our wines. Come along and have a Venison, Merlot and Juniper Berry Pie or perhaps a Chardonnay and Chicken Pie!!!

An action packed weekend withnew release wines, museum wine tastings, homemade gourmet pies, regional produce tasting, a special festival 16 to the dozen deal!!!

Wine Appreciation Classes

Michael and Wendy conduct Wine Appreciation classes for Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT Solutions).

A six week wine appreciation class held on Wednesday nights at the CIT Bruce Campus is designed to give an in depth appreciation of the main wine varieties and some lesser known varieties. A range of subjects including making wine, wine and food and wine regions of the world make this a comprehensive course.

Latest Releases

The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is finally in the bottle!!!! At $19.00 per bottle you will have to be quick as the past five vintages have sold out in no time!!! . The wine has luscious fruit characters and will be a fine companion to fresh salads and BBQs this summer. A terrific summer time wine, full of passionfruit and gooseberry characteristics.

The 2006 Cabernet Merlot has been released and is proving popular with well integrated fruit, oak and tannins.

The 2006 Shiraz is displaying the wonderful fruit and oak flavours as the very popular 2005 Shiraz.

The 2005 of Pinot Noir is now available and what a pinot it is!!!! Full flavours of cherries and berries - it is a great wine to have with food. Just $25 per bottle.

Due to high demand for our Merlot, the 2005 Merlot has been released. With a very good review in James Halliday's latest Wine Companion, the Merlot did not last long!!! If you want some 2005, you'd better be quick. This Merlot is action packed flavours with deep purple colour. SOLD OUT

3 October will see the first release of our first dessert wine. A late picked riesling that tastes like liquid musk sticks. "The May Riesling" has been made to celebrate 10 years since the first vone planting at Dionysus Winery and the 99th birthday of May Mahood (Wendy's grandmother) who planted the first vine on her 89th birthday.

New Labels

Dionysus Winery has a new look!!! We have re-vamped the label to have a consistent look for all whites and reds. The new labels look very smart with our new printed screw caps.
